Controller support alongside your existing accounts team.

We take on defined recurring accounting work when the business needs more review and reporting capacity than its current arrangement provides.

Connect the bookkeeping to the report

Bookkeeping records the transactions. Controller work includes reviewing account schedules, checking proposed adjustments and preparing the balances for management reporting. We agree which parts Working Quarter will handle and how that fits with the work already done by your staff or bookkeeper.

An assignment can cover the recurring close review, the monthly report or a group of accounts that needs sustained attention. It can also include preparing accounting information requested by your external accountant.

Make recurring reviews specific

Account schedules
Review the entries that make up an accrued liability, prepayment or other material balance, including items that should have cleared in a previous period.
Journal entries
Check the explanation, accounts, period and support for a proposed adjustment. The business retains its agreed approval arrangements.
Report preparation
Maintain account groupings and comparisons, explain material adjustments and identify items that remain unresolved.

Set the division of work

The assignment identifies who maintains the ledger, supplies missing information, reviews estimates and approves adjustments. We also agree the records and system access needed for Working Quarter’s work.

Your business retains authority over payments, banking and business decisions. We do not take custody of client funds. Tax filings, legal opinions, investment advice and assurance work require a separate appropriate professional.

Support that can recur

A recurring arrangement sets out the accounts or reports included, the reporting calendar and the way changes to the scope are agreed. We can work alongside an existing bookkeeper, finance employee or external accountant.

The first inquiry can describe the reports you already receive and the accounting work you need someone to take on.
